Germany's Federal Cartel Office, the Bundeskartellamt, opened an investigation into potential anti-competitive impacts of Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, Politico reports. Bundeskartellamt President Andreas Mundt said his office has "reason to doubt" the ATT's rules around user tracking by third-party applications because they "apply to third parties, but not to Apple itself," Mundt said. An Apple spokesperson noted the rules "apply equally to all developers — including Apple" and carry support from privacy regulators and advocates.
