The Conference of Independent German Federal and State Data Protection Supervisory Authorities, Datenschutzkonferenz, has released its report on the application of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. "The GDPR has ensured that progress has been made on achieving the goals of improving the protection of fundamental rights and creating a harmonized Digital Single Market," the DSK wrote. While there is a positive outlook, the DSK also suggested nine areas that need improvement or clarity, including practicability, data breach reports, purpose limitation, data protection by design, supervisory authorities’ powers and sanctioning practice, and direct marketing.
