German data protection authorities welcomed the Court of Justice of the European Union's recent one-stop shop ruling, Euractiv.com reports. A spokesperson for the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information said the CJEU's decision showcases ways “to deviate from the rule of the lead supervisory authority in certain cases." The office of the Hamburg DPA, the Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, said the new processes for handling certain cases "takes sufficient account of the coherence of the application of European law.”
