At an event commemorating Data Protection Day, Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili emphasized the importance of protecting the data of Georgia’s citizens and the strives the country has made in doing so, Agenda reports. “Creation of the Office deserved high assessments in the European Commission’s visa liberation report on Georgia,” Kvirikashvili said. “The Office has gained trust among public and private institutions and addresses to the body increased six times in 2015 compared to the same period of 2014,” adding that “we have the ambition to be a member of the European family and protecting the privacy of our people leads to this way.”
