Microsoft has released its Top 10 Tech Issues for 2018 report, with privacy and cybersecurity topics making the list. The list calls the EU General Data Protection Regulation a "sea change" for the tech industry in the upcoming year, as companies prepare for the May 2018 implementation date. Tech companies, such as Microsoft, that provide cloud services have been working to implement changes to support the new requirements. Microsoft also cited a pair of privacy cases to be heard in front of the U.S. Supreme Court as issues to watch, including Carpenter v. United States, and its own case, United States v. Microsoft, regarding warrants for emails stored overseas. Other issues that made the list include net neutrality, artificial intelligence, and diversity and tech.
