BuzzFeed News reports the Government Accountability Office’s report on federal agencies’ use of facial recognition technology may have missed five agencies’ use of Clearview AI. While the U.S. Capitol Police, U.S. Probation Office, Pentagon Force Protection Agency, Transportation Security Administration and Internal Revenue Service’s Criminal Investigation Division reported they did not use the software between April 2018 and March 2020, BuzzFeed News reports it previously reviewed internal Clearview AI data revealing they did.
