A review by the U.S. Government Accountability Office found the Department of Homeland Security doesn’t always comply with its own policy in providing privacy training to contractors handling large amounts of personally identifiable information. The GAO made seven recommendations for DHS “to improve their oversight of contractors’ privacy controls and remediation of incidents.” The GAO said DHS agreed with the recommendations and has outlined plans to address them.
