Davis Polk & Wardwell has announced that Jon Leibowitz, former chairman of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), is joining the firm as a partner in its Washington, DC, office.

Leibowitz, who served as FTC chairman from 2009 to 2013 and as a commissioner from 2004 to 2009, will provide counsel in the developing area of privacy law. The firm specializes in antitrust and competition and mergers and acquisitions.
