In a 3-2 vote, the FTC commissioners approved an adjustment to its approach for prescribing new rules for unfair or deceptive business practices under Section 18 of the FTC Act.
- A coalition of state attorneys general called on Congress to give the FTC increased powers to combat fraudulent and anticompetitive activity. In a letter to members of Congress, the attorneys general show their support for the Consumer Protection and Recovery Act, which enhances the FTC's ability to obtain monetary relief for consumers impacted by bad actors.
