The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has announced the finalization of its settlement with Utah-based InfoTrax Systems and former CEO Mark Rawlins. The tech company allegedly failed to put proper data security measures in place, leading to a personal information hack of more than 1 million users from 2014 to 2016. The final settlement prohibits Rawlins and InfoTrax from handling personal information in any way unless an information security program is established to address the security failures highlighted in the original complaint.
