The Federal Trade Commission released a video on the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Cybersecurity Framework, and the ways it relates to the FTC's enforcement actions on data security. As the FTC blog post points out, "Businesses often ask: 'If I comply with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, am I complying with what the FTC requires?'” The video features FTC Division of Privacy and Identity Protection Attorney Andrea Arias, who discusses how the NIST framework aligns with the FTC's law enforcement actions, and the agency's Start with Security guidance, and the best way for companies to use all of these resources.
