The U.S. Federal Trade Commission released its 2018 “Privacy and Data Security Update” report. The agency’s annual recap covered the settlements it reached over the past year, including cases with Uber, Venmo and BLU Products. The FTC also covered settlements in cases where companies allegedly violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, its work to enforce the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield agreement, and the reports and events it hosted throughout 2018.
