The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has released the agenda for an event it will host Nov. 6-8 at the American University Washington College of Law on the role data plays in competition and innovation. Topics for the event include “The Intersection of Big Data, Privacy, and Competition,” “The Impact of GDPR on EU Technology Venture Investment,” and “The Impact of Privacy Regulations on Competition and Innovation.” The FTC announced it plans to accept comments on those topics until Jan. 7. The agency listed out other issues it will accept for public comment, such as whether there is a policy or technical distinction between data and big data and how developments involving data have changed the understanding and use of personal and sensitive information.
