The U.S. Federal Trade Commission re-filed its Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking with the Office of Management and Budget for a potential rulemaking on privacy and artificial intelligence. The ANPRM and its stakeholder consultation period began at the start of June and will end in August. The filing matches an ANPRM for privacy and AI that was slated for February after a pre-filing from the FTC December 2021, but the commission did not follow through with the initial rulemaking steps.
