In a blog post for the Federal Trade Commission, FTC Chief Technologist Lorrie Cranor, CIPT, announced the agency will host a networking event prior to its 2017 PrivacyCon event. With a "wealth of privacy experts" expected to be in Washington for PrivacyCon on Jan. 12, 2017, the FTC is offering a pre-PrivacyCon networking event from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Jan. 11. "Besides showcasing some of the excellent privacy research already taking place, we would like to facilitate both additional privacy research and connections between researchers and organizations interested in their work," Cranor writes. The networking event will take place at the FTC's Constitution Center and is free and open to the public.
