The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has appointed Katherine Race Brin as its new chief privacy officer (CPO) to succeed Peter Miller. “Katie has served as acting CPO since December 2014,” said FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez, adding, “it’s an important role, and I look forward to continuing to work with her to ensure that the FTC complies with our privacy obligations.” Brin has served as senior advisor to the director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection and as staff attorney in the Division of Privacy and Identity Protection.
