The U.S. Federal Trade Commission will be hosting its first hearings on competition and consumer protection in the 21st century with a pair of full-day sessions at Georgetown University Law Center Sept. 13 and 14. The first hearings will cover topics such as the regulation of consumer data, the current competitive landscape and the state of consumer protection law and policy, the state of the U.S. economy, and an analysis of vertical mergers. The FTC will also be accepting comments on the issues covered in the hearings until Oct. 14.
