The U.S. Federal Trade Commission and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced they will host a public workshop Dec. 10 on the issues that affect traditional credit reports and employment and tenant background screening reports. The agencies will gather industry representatives, consumer advocates and regulators to discuss what can be gleaned from the CFPB’s supervisory reviews of credit reporting agencies and furnishers on accuracy and dispute obligations that the agency has conducted since 2012 and the lessons from the CFPB and FTC’s enforcement cases on CRA accuracy obligations. Comments on the topic will be accepted until Jan. 10, 2020.
