The U.S. Federal Trade Commission reached a settlement with Flo Health over the data-sharing practices related to its women's health tracking app. The FTC alleges the health data of millions using Flo Period & Ovulation Tracker was unlawfully shared with third-party marketing and analytics services Flo holds partnerships with, including Facebook and Google. As part of the settlement, the developer will undergo an independent privacy review, notify affected users about the disclosures and have third parties delete previously shared data.
