France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, announced its 35 million euro fine against Amazon for cookie violations under the EU General Data Protection Regulation was confirmed by the Council of State, Conseil d'État. The court upheld the CNIL's competence and ability to enforce on the matter while confirming Amazon's violations from December 2020 related to applying cookies without consent and not informing users of the application.
