Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) yesterday sent another letter to car-for-hire service Uber CEO Travis Kalanick asking him to provide more information about the company’s privacy policies, TechCrunch reports. Franken first contacted Kalanick about Uber’s policies in November, which Franken says was met with a vague response he characterized as “disappointing.” In yesterday’s letter, Franken pushed Kalanick to explain why employees need the “God view tool,” which allows them to view Uber trips in real time. The company has said only employees in certain areas have access to the tool, but Franken wants to know specifically what those areas are, as well as what personal information the company shares with its parent company and subsidiaries.
