National Cybersecurity Agency of France Director General Guillaume Poupard is calling to stop U.S. authorities from accessing data stored in Europe by U.S. cloud companies, Politico reports. Europe needs “a rule that only European law is applicable on cloud products certified in Europe” for services like health care and finance, he said. “This is not about turning our backs on partners. But it’s about having the courage to say that we don’t want non-European law to apply to these services,” Poupard said.
