National Agency for Information Systems Security General Manager Guillaume Poupard said Huawei Technologies will not be able to access the location data of French citizens, Bloomberg reports. Poupard said France will block Huawei from the information even if the company’s technology is used in France’s 5G network. Poupard said the country wants to adopt a safety-first approach to its 5G data. “We will be very vigilant,” Poupard said. “It’s likely we will apply a principle of extra precaution and ban ourselves from using gear makers from ‘high-risk countries’ — one wouldn’t want to mention China.”
