The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights issued a report suggesting policymakers consider the challenges artificial intelligence poses as the European Union drafts a regulatory framework for emerging technologies. In a statement, FRA Director Michael O’Flaherty said AI "is not infallible," adding citizens "need to be aware when AI is used, how it works and how to challenge automated decisions." The report looks at 100 public and private organizations already using AI in Estonia, Finland, France, the Netherlands and Spain.
