The Future of Privacy Forum announced it has received a $300,000, two-year grant from the National Science Foundation to create a Privacy Research and Data Responsibility Research Coordination Network. The goal of the network is to produce academic researchers and industry practitioners to back research priorities for the National Privacy Research Strategy. The grant will allow FPF to discuss the RCN with numerous privacy professionals, including chief privacy officers and civil rights advocates. “The overarching goal of the National Privacy Research Strategy is to produce knowledge and technology that will enable individuals, commercial entities, and the government to benefit from transformative technological advancements, enhance opportunities for innovation, and provide meaningful protections for personal information and individual privacy,” said FPF’s CEO Jules Polonetsky, CIPP/US.
