A Black former Uber driver in the U.K. has filed a legal claim against the company alleging his account was deactivated after its facial-recognition software failed to correctly identify him, the Guardian reports. The Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain claims at least 35 other drivers have also lost standing with the company due to alleged mistakes with the software. Uber “strongly refutes the completely unfounded claims” and said drivers can choose human verification for images which includes “a minimum of two human expert reviews.”
