Finland's Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman announced three companies were fined a combined 128,500 euros for EU General Data Protection Regulation violations. Posti, a Finnish postal service, received the steepest of the penalties with a 100,000 euro fine for breach of the GDPR's provisions on transparency. Utility company Kymen Vesi was hit with a 16,000 euro fine for unlawful processing of employee location data. And an unnamed company took a 12,500 euro fine for collecting personal data without a legal basis. (Original post is in Finnish.)
