Finland’s data protection authority fined Taksi Helsinki Oy 72,000 euros for violating data protection legislation. The taxi company did not assess the risks and impacts associated with processing personal data before introducing a camera-based voice and video surveillance system, the Office of the Data Protection Officer said. Deficiencies in the company’s processing of personal data were also found. Taksi Helsinki has been ordered to implement privacy impact assessments in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. (Original post is in Finnish.)
