Federated learning could change the future of artificial intelligence especially with the increasing demand for data privacy, VentureBeat reports. It trains AI models on mobile devices, then transfers those learnings back to a global model without leaving the device. This capability offers a privacy solution for technology giants and industries, especially in fields such as health care where privacy is critical, the report states. There are still some challenges with federated learning, including bandwidth issues and the need for a Wi-Fi connection.
