U.S. Federal Chief Information Officer Suzette Kent said at Nvidia’s GPU Technology Conference in Washington Tuesday the U.S. government will soon establish its first Chief Data Officer Council, Nextgov reports. The Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act called for the creation of the CDO Council to advise government in data efforts. “The council will meet regularly to establish governmentwide best practices for the generation, dissemination and protection of data; promote interagency data sharing and engage stakeholders from many sectors on how the government can improve data access and use,” the report states.
