Despite proposed multimillion-dollar fines for alleged privacy violations, U.S. Federal Communications Commissioner Geoffrey Starks continues to question AT&T and Verizon’s practices, MediaPost reports. “Again I find myself inquiring about data and privacy issues that lack transparency,” he wrote in letters to the companies’ CEOs, asking about their “practices and procedures for protecting consumer information — particularly location data” and “commitment to data privacy.” Starks asked the companies to respond by Aug. 25.
