CNN reports the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election includes the Trump campaign's 2016 data analytics operation. The investigation allegedly includes data on computer bots and programs used to repeatedly perform searches linked to Russia to help bubble up into peoples' social media news feeds negative information on the Clinton campaign. Russian operatives may have also used the Trump campaign's data analytics operation and personnel, supervised by the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner, to help with Russia's own targeting efforts, the report states. Kushner told Forbes, "I called somebody who works for one of the technology companies that I work with, and I had them give me a tutorial on how to use Facebook micro-targeting." The company in question told CNN it has not been contacted by federal investigators.
