Speaking at a cybersecurity conference at Boston College, Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray said his agency will not rush to share the information of victims of corporate data breaches with other agencies, Reuters reports. Wray said the FBI’s approach to data sharing following a cyberattack is different than those of “less-enlightened enforcement agencies.” Wray encouraged companies to continue sharing information with the FBI in order to prevent future data breaches from happening. “We don’t view it as our responsibility when companies share information with us to turn around and share that information with some of those other agencies,” Wray said.
