AI-based facial recognition vendor Oosto is supporting the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner’s order for Clearview AI to delete facial images of Australians, Biometric Update reports. Following a joint investigation with the U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office, the OAIC found Clearview in violation of the Australian Privacy Act. “Scraping images of people from the web without their consent is, in our view, a serious violation of the right to privacy,” Oosto CEO Avi Golan said.
