Facebook plans to temporarily suspend features in both Instagram and its Messenger application for European users to comply with changes in the ePrivacy Directive, which will cover so-called "over the top" messaging services starting Dec. 21, BBC News reports. The technology company plans to quickly reactivate those capabilities once it is assured they are in compliance with the directive. "We're still determining the best way to bring these features back. It takes time to rebuild products in a way that work seamlessly for people and also comply with new regulation," Facebook said in a statement.
