In the wake of a preliminary order that would freeze data transfers from Facebook Ireland to the U.S., Facebook told the Irish High Court it is unsure how it would be able to operate in the European Union, Reuters reports. In an affidavit reportedly seen by the Business Post, a Facebook representative said, "It is not clear to (Facebook) how ... it could continue to provide the Facebook and Instagram services in the EU." A High Court official said the affidavit has not been made public.
