According to sources familiar with the matter, Facebook has approached several cybersecurity companies related to a potential acquisition that could take place by the end of 2018, CNET reports. Following Facebook's latest data breach, which impacted 29 million users, The Information first reported the potential acquisition and added that the company seemed to be driven by a desire to both boost its security capabilities and work to recover its data privacy reputation. Facebook has not commented on any potential acquisition plans.
