On Data Privacy Day, Facebook launched a new privacy tool that lets users manage how the social network tracks them across the web, CNET reports. CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote in a blog post the “Off-Facebook Activity” tool is now available to users around the world, adding in the coming weeks, nearly 2 billion people will be prompted to review their privacy settings. Washington Post Technology Columnist Geoffrey Fowler writes the new tool is a reminder that Facebook tracks users even when not in use.
