Broadcasting & Cable reports that Facebook and Google will not deliver presentations on facial recognition at today’s National Telecommunications & Information Administration (NTIA) multi-stakeholder hearing. The Center for Digital Democracy’s Jeffrey Chester had asked for such presentations at the last meeting in February. Facebook and Google are not required to participate in the meeting, though both are expected to have representatives present, the report states. NTIA representatives have said from the start that the meetings are a voluntary process. Facebook’s Artificial Intelligence group recently released a report on a highly accurate facial verification system.
