Facebook is appealing the Irish Data Protection Commission's order to suspend its data transfers from the EU to the U.S., The Wall Street Journal reports. In its appeal to the High Court of Ireland, Facebook argues the DPC issued its decision before receiving guidance from the European Data Protection Board. “A lack of safe, secure and legal international data transfers would have damaging consequences for the European economy,” Facebook said. The company still plans to submit responses to the DPC before the regulator's deadline.
