- The Markup reports on its analysis of privacy protections associated with virtual private networks, which revealed most network providers participate in user tracking and data collection. A review of 14 VPNs showed 10 contained some form of user tracking.
- The practice of "bounce tracking" is becoming common within the advertising technology space, Fast Company reports. Advertisers execute bounce tracking by attaching hidden trackers to links users click on. Brave Director of Privacy Peter Snyder said, "Anybody who runs an ad network is almost certainly doing some version of this."
- According to MediaPost, Mozilla is rolling out a new tool in its Firefox Strict Mode that will "delete all traces" of third-party cookies.
