Ever is shutting down its cloud photo storage app, TechCrunch reports. The company, which was accused last year of using customers’ photos to develop facial-recognition technology offered for sale to business clients, cited increased competition from Apple and Google services. Ever said it did not share customers’ private photos or personal information with clients. The company rebranded its artificial intelligence work as Paravision, which continues to operate despite the consumer app closure.
