A class-action complaint has been brought against Eventbrite for allegedly failing to notify more than 25 million customers of a data breach that occurred in May, the Cook County Record reports. The complaint alleges the company, while doing business as Ticketfly, violated the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act, breach of contract, breach of implied contract and negligence. The plaintiff states she was unaware the defendant had been hacked in May and only learned of the breach in September when she read a tweet from the defendant that was posted in June. Meanwhile, a lawsuit was filed in West Virginia, alleging Charleston-based Molina Information Systems violated the plaintiff's patient privacy rights when it provided her medical information to third parties without her consent.
