The European Parliament has passed the EU’s first cybersecurity rules, Bloomberg Technology reports. The law will regulate security and breach-reporting practices for businesses across sectors, the report states. It also mandates “EU national governments to cooperate among themselves in the field of network security,” the report adds. The law “will help prevent cyberattacks on Europe’s important interconnected infrastructures,” said MEP Andreas Schwab, who helped champion the rules.
