The EuroPriSe Privacy Seal has announced its new Advisory Board. The members include John Borking of Borking Consultancy and former privacy commissioner of The Netherlands; Gwendal Le Grand, the CNIL’s director of technology and innovation; Waltraut Kotschy, director of Data Protection Compliance Consulting E.U. and formerly of the Austrian Data Protection Commission; Reinhard Priebe, former director for internal security in Directorate General Home Affairs at the European Commission; Peter Schaar of the European Academy for Freedom of Information and Data Protection and former German data protection commissioner (DPC) and chair of the Article 29 Working Party, and Thilo Weichert of the Independent Centre for Privacy Protection and Schleswig-Holstein’s DPC. The UK Information Commissioner’s Office’s Gemma Farmer will participate as an observer. “The EuroPriSe Advisory Board comes with a pooling of expertise in privacy and data protection that is clearly exceptional,” noted EuroPriSe’s Sebastian Meissner.
