In a letter to the European Commission, European trade unions requested an investigation into their allegations that Amazon illegally monitors its workers, Euronews reports. Their action follows a since-removed job advertisement for two “intelligence analysts” to monitor potential threats, including “hostile political leaders.” UNI Europe Regional Secretary Oliver Reothig said, “In Europe we have (the General Data Protection Regulation), we have data protection and privacy rights, and they need to be upheld, which means we have to investigate.”
