The European Commission published a communication to highlight the main areas of change and "facilitate readiness and preparations by citizens, public administrations, businesses" and other stakeholders once the U.K. leaves the European Union by the Dec. 31 transition period deadline. The commission advises companies to take the proper precautions to ensure compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation when transferring personal data to the U.K., regardless of where the country's adequacy standing sits at the beginning of 2021.
