Politico reports the U.S. government is circulating concerns to EU officials regarding increased burdens the proposed Digital Markets Act would place on U.S.-based companies. U.S. officials wrote a white paper outlining its qualms, noting regulation from the U.S. or the EU should not create "unintended adverse consequences, such as inadvertent cybersecurity risks or harms to technological innovation." The paper also urged EU officials to implement the DMA in "non-discriminatory fashion and ensure appropriate coverage for all appropriate firms."
