The European Commission and the European External Action Services are creating competing initiatives to address cybersecurity threats, Euractiv reports. The EEAS is updating its Cyber Diplomacy Toolbox, including implementing "preventive measures and sanctions on external actors for malicious cyber activities against the Union and its member states." Meanwhile, the European Commission is focused on incident response with its Cyber Solidarity Act, which establishes a European Detection Infrastructure for sharing threat intelligence as well as cybersecurity audits.
