Representatives of European Union countries agreed the European Commission would be the “sole authority empowered to enforce” the EU’s proposed Digital Markets Act, Reuters reports. An agreement will be formally ratified Nov. 25. “In order to support the Commission, member states may empower competent authorities enforcing competition rules to conduct investigative measures into possible infringements of obligations for gatekeepers,” an EU document said.
